Designer Profile: Budiman Ong Cen Kuang

Budiman Ong Cen Kuang has always been drawn to lighting -- the irreplaceable element in any home. Trained in Gray’s School of Art, Robert Gordon University in Scotland, Ong’s Asian heritage fuels his inspiration and his western education shapes his aesthetics and knowledge in design.
      
Designing and building lighting fixtures by hand, one at a time, at his studio in Bali, Indonesia, Ong creates original, hand-crafted pieces that let the unique materials’ characteristics speak for themselves. Fusing traditional craft with modern elements, each piece exudes character and soul that is innovative and timeless.
